Chane is the daughter of Huey Laforet. Huey was one of the original alchemists that gained eternal life that was on the ship, Advena Avis in 1711. Many, many, many, years later, he's labeled as a traitor to the US and gets imprisoned in Newfoundland of all the places. But because of this, eventually he builds up many faithful followers, one of the most faithful is none other then his own daughter. And because Chane is Huey's daughter and creation, she is the keeper of his secrets, namely being an Immortal. As a child, to keep them secret, she wished for nothing more then for her father to take her voice. From the moment she gave the go ahead, she was mute. The already soft spoken papa's little guinea pig would never utter a single word ever again. And if being a voluntary mute isn't enough...unlike Huey, Chane is mortal. Meaning while her father will live for ever, always looking the same, she will soon wither and die. But dispite this, she forwent the emotion of love and believe that her father was the only one she would ever love.

Fast forward a couple of years, she's now apart of the group of terrorists known as Lumeres. Masquerading as an orchestra they boarded the Flying Pussyfoot. Later on the 'orchestra' beat Ladd Russo's 'White Suits' to the punch of taking over the train. They also take Senator Beriam's wife and daughter, who just happened to be on the train hostage. Needless to say that the Senator didn't really care about his family's safety, they could just become collateral damage if they had to as far as he was concerned.

To make a long story short, even though everything was seemingly going as planned, there seemed to be some animosity between Chane and the rest of Lumeres. Apparently they were planing to kill her during the first round of her fight with Ladd Russo. They said she was going against the original plan they had set. Ladd informed her of this....but not after he killed the man who told him everything, ~~and then used his body as a puppet and disposed of it because he's like that~~. He then proceeded to tell her that the first thing he would do after he got off the train was to kill Laforet, this provoked her...that and the advances he made, anyway, the fight continued for a few more seconds before Ladd knocked her off the side of the train. Chane caught herself with her knives, but it was the conductor car, which prompted Claire Stanfield..or Vino or the rail chaser as he would prefer to be called, to interfere with the fight.

Claire came up with the idea that they should continue their little scuffle, and that he would kill the last one standing. They started to fight yet again, but Claire then interfered. This time, all Chane did was stand back. Somehow Claire knew that Chane really didn't like killing people because Huey doesn't like to either. So he decided to step in for her, especially with the story Ladd told, she just didn't seem like the type to betray or do any of the things they were accusing her of.

And so they ended up fighting while Chane watched, eventually he was thrown from the train. Chane was the one that was left standing. But instead of following through with his plan to kill the remaining one, he decided to...attempt to confess his love to her...in a slightly psycho way. He then told her that they would be soon reaching a river, if she were to jump off to save herself from snipers, that would be the place to do it. So he told her to leave her reply on the roof of the train car, then acted as a decoy. Once the train reached the river, she jumped ship. Her message to Claire was simply "I'm waiting for you in Manhattan. I will forever wait for you. Please, please come and find me, I will also try and find you."

Chane was later found by Jacuzzi Splot's gang who were fishing their heist out of the same river. They end up fishing her out and invite her to stay at the hide out temporarily. The next day, they went to visit Jacuzzi, who was injured from his fight on the train, at the hospital. He told Nice and Nick that it was okay to let her stay as long as she wanted and to take her in...even though they had second thoughts about her staying with them being one of the terrorists and all. But they soon warmed up to her. She even took it upon herself to watch over Jacuzzi, even if he was modest about the whole situation and no matter how hard she tried to make him show his true intentions...which he was in fact already showing. She just didn't get people like him, Nice, and Nick.
